Description

The U.S. Geological Survey (USGS) has a requirement for software maintenance, documentation, and enhancements for Isite Z39.50 geographic metadata indexer and server package and the companion Geospatial Metadata Profile (GEO) support required for continued operation of the National Geospatial Data Clearinghouse (NGDC). The USGS believes A//WWW Enterprises is the only source that can meet the USGS requirement stated above. A/WWW Enterprises has unique knowledge of the capabilities and implementation of the entire software suite enabling A/WWW to make authoritative changes to the public release of the software suite. Firms who believe they can provide these services, who hold a software license, and can provide Isite software package enhancements and version control management for this software suite are invited to submit an affirmative response to this notice by e-mail to Melissa Gill (Mgill@usgs.gov) within 45 days of the publication date of this notice. An affirmative response shall include narrative that clearly demonstrates the capabilities of the interested party. A determination by the Government not to compete this proposed contract based upon responses to this notice is solely within the discretion of the Government. This notice may represent the Government's only official notice of this procurement. This announcement is for informational purposes only. It is anticipated that no formal RFQ will be issued. Numbered Note 22 applies.
