Description
The U. S. Coast Guard Civil Engineering Unit Juneau plans to issue a Request for Quotation for the procurement of services to purchase, install, purge, and fill 15 propane tanks at the Coast Guard communication facility at Naked Island in Prince William Sound, Alaska. Prior to departure from the site the prospective contractor shall insure that all propane tanks are filled to the maximum allowable capacity. The 15 existing propane tanks shall be removed from the site and disposed of. It is expected that the site shall require approximately 4000 gallons of propane. In addition to the replacement of the fifteen 500 gallon propane tanks, the prospective contractor shall also install bunks, a propane heater/stove, the necessary propane fuel source for the heater, and necessary monitoring equipment in an existing hut to provide emergency quarters for technicians in the event they are stranded at the site. There is an additional requirement to refuel the Coast Guard Communication facility at Point Pigot in Prince William Sound, Alaska. It is anticipated that Point Pigot will require approximately 1500 gallons of propane. The required completion date for this project is on or before August 1, 2003. This acquisition is set aside 100 percent for small business. All responsible sources may submit a quote. The proposed contract action is for services the Government intends to acquire as a commercial service item using FAR Part 12 and FAR Part 13.5 TEST PROGRAM FOR CERTAIN COMMERCIAL ITEMS. The NAICS Code 454319 is assigned. The size standard is $6.0 million average annual receipts for the past three years. This solicitation will not be issued in paper form.
