Description
The Bureau of Census National Processing Center (NPC) in Jeffersonville, Indiana, is submitting this synopsis to conduct Market Research in accordance with FAR Part 10 and as a Request for Information (RFI) for informational purposes only and does not constitute a solicitation, a synopsis of a solicitation, or a commitment on the part of the Government to later publish a solicitation or award a contract based on the information received. NPC anticipates developing an acquisition process to enable NPC to obtain photocopying capabilities on site, via either Contractor furnished new copiers or maintenance of NPC owned existing copiers. An agreement may be for service and maintenance of existing copier equipment that may include the provision of supplies such as toner, developer, and drums. NPC currently has approx. 92 copiers of various brands, models, and capabilities at its facilities in Jeffersonville, Indiana. Copier use varies from year to year, but during FY2002, approx. 8.7 copies were made, but note that just three copiers produced approx. 4.84 million copies. For the year most copiers made approx. 25K to 50K copies. NPC is interested in proposals regarding the maintenance and service support of existing copiers, and/or the obtainment of equipment that consolidates functions such as photocopying, faxing, and printing in b/w and/or color. Considerations may be given to buying or leasing equipment and to trade-ins on existing equipment. Interested parties should provide responses that identify their ideas and capabilities for fulfilling the photocopying requirements for NPC. Responses must be in writing and must be limited to 10 pages. Electronic or facsimile responses will not be accepted. Responses should be self-explanatory and presented in a manner so that further discussions are not necessary. Responses shall be treated in accordance with FAR Provision 52.215-3, "Request for Information or Solicitation for Planning Purposes." Discussions are not scheduled at this time, however, it is possible after receipt of responses from interested parties that NPC may schedule meetings to clarify questions and other concerns. During the phase of initial market research and obtainment of information, interested parties do not need to contact this office but should address questions with their responses. Questions should be limited to no more than two pages. The deadline for responses during this RFI phase is 02-APR-2003, and should be mailed to NPC Census, Procurement-Bldg. 66, Rm. 149, 1201 East Tenth Street, Jeffersonville, IN, 47132, attention Clark Terrell, Contract Specialist. Possible applicable NAICS codes are 423420, 532420, and 811212.
