Small Business Set-Aside: Total Small Business
Description: This is a combined synopsis/solicitation for commercial items prepared in accordance with the format in FAR Subpart 12.6, as supplemented with additional information included in this notice. THIS ANNOUNCEMENT CONSTITUTES THE ONLY SOLICITATION; QUOTATIONS ARE BEING REQUESTED AND A WRITTEN SOLICITATION WILL NOT BE ISSUED. The solicitation number AAQ030006 is issued as a Request for Quotation (RFQ) and incorporates provisions and clauses that are in effect through FAC 2001-12. FAR 52.219-6, Notice of Total Small Business Set-Aside is applicable to this acquisition. The NAICS code is 444190. The small business size standard is $6.0 mil. The Bureau of Land Management has a requirement for the acquisition and the erecting of three (3) Cor-Ten steel or equal shade ramadas at Empire Landing Campground in accordance with the attached specifications, map, and drawings. The campground is located in San Bernardino County, Parker Strip, California, approximately one quarter mile north of the San Bernardino County Fire Station #21. (NOTE: All references to 'CORTEN' on the drawings should read 'Cor-Ten steel or equal'). FAR 52.211-6 Brand Name or Equal is applicable to this acquisition. The equal product must have the following characteristics: a) equivalent to ASTM A588 Grade A; b) weathering corrosion resistant steel; c) high strength, low alloy structural steel with 50 ksi (345 MPa) minimum yield. Descriptive literature showing the quoted item meets or exceeds all specifications included herein must accompany the quotation. A site visit is scheduled for March 13, 2003 at 10:00 a.m. local time. Please call 24 hours in advance to confirm. Performance shall commence within 5 days of award and be completed in approximately 45 days. The Government anticipates award of a firm fixed price contract resulting from this solicitation on or about April 1, 2003 to the responsive/responsible offeror whose offer conforms to the solicitation and is most advantageous to the Government. The Bureau of Land Management (BLM) and Department of the Interior (DOI) are now acquiring goods and services electronically using the Internet. All BLM solicitations and awards for goods and services wil be posted on the Department of Interior website @ htttp://ideasec.nbc.gov/.
