- Description
- The Department of Interior, Geological Survey, Yucca Mountain Project Branch, Death Valley Regional Flow System (DVRFS) Project staff requires support in the organization, development, integration and coordination of interdisciplinary research teams in their effort to develop regional geologic and hydrologic models of the Death Valley ground-water flow system. The YMP is a congressionally mandated Department of Energy (DOE) tasked to evaluate Yucca Mountain, in southern Nevada, as a potential repository for the storage of high-level radioactive waste (the Nuclear Waste Policy Act, 1982 and the Nuclear Waste Policy Amendments Act, 1987). The project is in continuing need of guidance and oversight into the effective communication of project activities. Activities requiring documentation include a summary of technical activities related to water resource management in the Death Valley region, and a summary of the application of "state-of-the-art" technology being used to accomplish project goals. In addition the project needs to evaluate the current state of knowledge in Decision Analysis being used in the private sector. Knowledge of these approaches will help project staff determine if these techniques are appropriate for use in the Death Valley regional flow system project. The period of performance is base period plus two additional 12-month options. The issue date for the Solicitation shall be on or about March 21, 2003. The proposed contract is 100% set aside for Small Business Concerns. The Northern American Industry Classification System (NAICS) for this project is 541512. See Numbered Notes 1 and 26.
