- Description
- NA Under the authority of FAR 6.302-1, the U.S. Army Robert Morris Acquisition Center, Natick Contracting Division, Natick, MA intends to negotiate and award a contract on a sole source basis to PyroPac, 20776 FM 2252, San Antonio, TX 78266, which is for the procurement of PyroPac beverage heating fuel gel for immediate use by deploying and/or deployed US troops to the CENTCOM area of operation, which gives the warfighter the ability to obtain hot beverages in a field environment in the time allotted for a res t break. The PyroPac gel is the only fuel which meets the following user requirements: it is tactical in that it burns with a steady blue flame which does not disclose the warfighters position; has negligible vapor pressure that allows it to be declared a non-flammable substance and therefore not subject to Department of Transportation hazardous material regulation, which allows for ease of transport to overseas destinations; and has a completed safety and health data sheet, required for an immediate materi al fielding. Additionally, the heat to mass ratio allows the warfighter to carry lesser amounts of fuel than others to complete their mission. Questions concerning this acquisition may be addressed to the above address, Attention: Mr. Thomas Bouchard (AMSS B-ACC-NS) or by E-mail. See Note 22, which is decreased from 45 days to 5 days.
