- SOURCES SOUGHT SYNOPSIS-NASA Glenn Research Center is seeking qualified Small Businesses, Small Disadvantaged Businesses, which also include those that are Women-Owned, HUBZone, and/or 8(a) firms capable of upgrading a Variable Frequency Power Supply System. The work includes the design, electrical study, fabrication and installation of rotating machinery, high voltage switchgear, power transformers, static drive equipment and controls. Upgrade of the system shall be performed to meet the following criteria: 1. Frequency converter design: existing 1200 kw dc-ac motor-generator sets shall be re-designed to match existing operational equipment for parallel operation. 2. AutoCAD design and layout of 790 V and 15 kV switchgear, large power transformers, static drive system, protective systems and controls. 3. Studies of machine characteristics, short circuit/fault design and coordination, and harmonics effects. 4. Fabrication and installation of all new equipment and auxiliaries with associated power and controls cabling. Offerors shall submit a capability statement that addresses the above criteria. North American Industry Classification System (NAICS) code for this procurement is 238990. NO SOLICITATION EXISTS; THEREFORE, DO NOT REQUEST A COPY OF THE SOLICITATION. If a solicitation is released it will be synopsized in FedBizOps and on the NASA Acquisition Internet Service. It is the potential offerors responsibility to monitor these cites for the release of any solicitation or synopsis. In order to ascertain the method of procurement for the construction services outlined above, qualified Small Businesses, Small Disadvantaged, HUBZone, Women-Owned Small Business, and/or 8(a) firms are invited to submit their ?CAPABILITY STATEMENT? to the NASA Glenn Research Center. Information to be provided SHALL include, but not limited to, name and address of firm, size of business; average annual revenue for the past 3 years and number of employees; ownership, whether they are Small, Small Disadvantaged, 8(a), HUBZone, and/or Woman-Owned; number of years in business; affiliate information; parent company; joint venture partners; potential teaming partners; prime contractor (if you are interested as a potential subcontractor); list of customers covering the past 3 years (highlight relevant work performed, contract numbers, contract type, dollar value of each procurement; and points of contact addresses and phone numbers). CAPABILITY STATEMENTS SHALL BE NO LONGER THAN 5 PAGES IN LENGTH. CAPABILITY STATEMENTS shall be submitted NO LATER THAN April 15, 2003.
