- Description
- The Naval Air Warfare Center Aircraft Division (NAWCAD), Patuxent River, Maryland, Acoustic Systems Division, has a requirement for services and data for the development of ASW sensor systems. This contract will also include material and facilities that are used for the development, integration, test, and evaluation of ASW sensor systems and support subsystem elements. The Acoustic Systems Division, which is tasked to develop and evaluate ASW sensors, their tactical use, and future tactical systems and concepts, operates in a highly integrated team environment with civil service, military, and contractor personnel. The contractor personnel provided under this contract must be ASW sensor technical experts. ALL personnel performing work under the proposed contract must, as a minimum, possess a SECRET clearance. Some personnel will require a TOP SECRET clearance. Location of performance is on-site at NAWCAD Patuxent River, Maryland, or off-site at a nearby (within 10 miles) contractor?s facility. Contractor personnel shall travel when necessary to provide needed tasks through off-site meetings, training, conferences, design, installation, integration, maintenance, or system test. A major reason for travel under this contract will be to support field experiments and ASW Sensor System test and evaluation. As part of this travel, contractor personnel may be required to travel overseas and to serve as flight crew and onboard ships for extended (2-3 week) sea tests. This requirement includes the responsibility for planning, coordination, system definition, design and development, and system integration of ASW Sensors and associated aircraft support systems. The ASW Sensor System includes: the sensor, the ASW platform and its associated software, and the operational support center. For the purposes of this requirement, ASW sensors will include both acoustic and non-acoustic sensors and their supporting hardware, software, and specialized test equipment. The anticipated contract type is a cost plus fixed fee with indefinite delivery indefinite quantity delivery orders. The estimated level of effort is 39,360 man hours per year for a total level of effort of 196,800 man hours. The period of performance is estimated at 12 months plus four one-year options to be assessed and awarded on an annual basis. The appropriate North American Industry Classification System (NAICS) code is 541330. This requirement is a follow-on effort to N00421-96-D-5120 with BAE Systems Applied Technologies, Inc. (Cage Code 99789). The Navy intends to release the solicitation, including any subsequent amendments, via the Internet. The solicitation will be available on the NAVAIR solicitation webpage located on the World Wide Web (WWW). The WWW server may be accessed using client browsers such as Netscape and Internet Explorer.
