Description

SUBMIT TECHNICAL QUESTIONS TO BURT ALMOND, INYO NATIONAL FOREST, (760)873-2439. The intent of this solicitation is to excavate a trench for waterline installation with a Rock Saw Trencher on Whitney Portal Road, Campground Roads and Recreational Residences Roads throughout the Whitney Portal area to install new main line and laterals to replace the existing domestic water system. Total length of trenches is approximately 11,000 feet. Approximately 3,000 feet of trench in Whitney Portal Road will be 30 inches deep, and the remainder of trenches will be 18 inches deep.NOTE: This area is very rocky (granite rock), with many large boulders throughout the project area. All trenching will be performed in existing roads, or abondoned roadways with vehicle access. The government's range estimate is $1.00 to $25,000. There will be a non-mandatory pre-bid meeting on April 22, 2003 at 10 am. Meeting location is Lone Pine, CA at the junction of Whitney Portal Road and Highway 395.
