- Description
- The U.S. Department of Education intends to award a five year, cost plus fixed fee type contract, to establish three regional centers located in the western, central and eastern regions of the United States. The contractor shall obtain support in the planning and implementation of technical support, research and capacity building activities related to the National Center for Reading First Technical Assistance authorized by the No Child Left Behind Act P.L. 107-110. National coverage will result in the establishment of these three regional centers. The contractor shall also make necessary logistical arrangements and preparations for full funding of each center. Services will range from on-going consultative services to tailored professional development and production of publications that highlight the implementation of scientifically based reading research and scientifically based reading instruction. The centers will also serve as high quality resource centers on scientifically based research, assist in identifying scientifically based instructional assessments, programs and materials, build LEAs and SEAs internal capacity, provide consultative assistance to individual States and districts, facilitate pre-service development and prepare and disseminate resource materials. The anticipated issue date is April 22, 2003, closing date May 28, 2003, 11:00 am EST. Request for copies of RFP ED-03-R-0008 may be made by telephone, mail, telegram, Internet or in person.
