- Description
- The Agency for Healthcare Research and Quality (AHRQ) in collaboration with the National Cancer Institute, Centers for Medicaid and Medicare Services and the Center for Disease Control intends to award a sole source modification to the National Forum for Health Care Quality Measurement and Reporting, 601 Thirteenth Street, 500 N, Washington DC 2005 to continue to identify evidence based quality of care measures that, when taken as a whole, will provide a framework for understanding, assessing, and improving the quality of cancer care. The purpose of the contract modification is to appoint and conduct meetings of a Data and Methods Panel, appoint and conduct meetings of Technical Expert Panels (TEPs); and conduct meetings of a Cancer Care Measures Steering Committee that will consider recommendations from the TEPs. The contractor shall also manage the Consensus Development Process to reach voluntary consensus on a set of quality measures. The Consensus Development Process must be conducted in a manner that is compliant with the National Technology Transfer and Advancement Act of 1995 (PL 104-113). The NQF is uniquely qualified to perform this work due to it its broad-based membership and commitment to public disclosure of information. The NQF provides a balanced structure for bringing together consumers, purchasers, providers, health plans, and others across the public and private sectors to develop consensus on health care performance measures and their implementation. Sources must also possess, or be able to obtain, the staff and other resources needed to expeditiously carry out the different types of activities listed above. A determination by the Government not to compete this proposed contract modification based on responses is solely within the discretion of the Government. All questions or responses to this notice should be directed to the Contracting Officer by April 10, 2003. Telephone requests will not be honored.
