Item 0001AA, New Manufacture, Item 0001AB New/Unused Government Surplus. NSN: 2840-01-423-4665PR, P/N: 1475M36P03. Rear Rotating Air Seal. This part is fracture critical low cycle fatigue (LCF) life limited and must be fabricated to specific minimum material properties. This item is a critical, heavy mass, high rotational speed assembly. It is manufactured from forgings with critical quality requirements. This item transmits torque in the fan section of the engine. Applicable to: F110-129 Engine. Destination: Tinker Air Force Base Ok 73145-3032. Delivery: starting August 03, a quantity between 1 ea and 20 ea will be acquired. The actual quantity will be determined at the time of award. At this time the Government?s BEQ is 11 ea. The following quantity ranges for pricing purposes will be solicited. (1-10 ea) and (11-20 ea). This is Sole Source to General Electric. Qualification requirements: Manufacturing knowledge is needed to ensure part reliability. General Electric is the only known supplier. This seal is a critical rotating component. Operational failure could be serious. The approximate response date will be 19 MAY 03. The approximate solicitation posting date will be 18 APR 03 The anticipated award date is 19 JUN 03. Written procedure will be used for this solicitation. No telephone requests. Only written or faxed request received directly from the requester is acceptable. All responsible sources solicited may submit a bid, proposal, or quotation which if timely shall be considered. It is suggested that small business firms or others interested in subcontracting opportunities in connection with the described procurement make contact with the firm(s) listed. Note: An Ombudsman has been appointed to hear concerns from offerors or potential Offerors during the proposal development phase of this acquisition. The purpose of the Ombudsman is not to diminish the authority of the program director or contracting officer, but to communicate contractor concerns, issues, disagreements, and recommendations to the appropriate government personnel. When requested, the Ombudsman will maintain strict confidentiality as to source of the concern. The Ombudsman does not participate in the evaluation of proposals or in the source selection process.
