Description
The National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST), Electronic and Electrical Engineering Laboratory (EEEL) requires a high performance digital imaging system combining CCD camera technology with low light level applications for stereo microscopy of single molecule fluorescence. *** The CCD camera must have 16-bit digitization at 10MHz with a large dynamic range at video frame rates, with a fine pitch of the detector's pixels, less than 7.4 microns by 7.4 microns, ideally matched to the resolution of optical microscopes. The camera must be cooled for low-light-level applications such as single-molecule fluorescence (SMF) *** All system components must be fully integrated and tested with the control module prior to delivery. *** The Agency's market research identified only Roper Scientific, Trenton, NJ, as manufacturing a fully integrated system that meets all requirements. Market research results notwithstanding, responses to this notice will be evaluated to determine whether a competitive procurement would be in the best interest of the Government. Responses must address specifically each of the above performance requirements and may be faxed or emailed to the contact listed in this notice. *** Responses must be received by April 30, 2003. The anticipated award date is May 2, 2003. *** This procurement is being conducted under the simplified acquisition authority of FAR 13.1 (NTE $100K). No formal solicitation is currently planned. FAR provisions are available online at http://www.arnet.gov/far/.
