Description
NA The U. S. Army Robert Morris Acquisition Center/Natick has a requirement for the retrofit of previously produced Modified Improved Reserve Parachute System (MIRPS) Pack Trays (Part No. 11-1-6967-1) and Ripcord Grip Assemblies (Part No. 11-1-4175-1) to conv ert the assemblies to the recently qualified and approved MIRPS-SLCP (Soft Loop Center Pull) configuration. This requirement will be completed as an assembly and not as separate contracts for the separate components (pack tray and ripcord). The estimated maximum number of MIRPS pack trays and ripcord assemblies required is 70,000 and the estimated minimum is 40,000. The previously produced MIRPS Pack Trays and Ripcord Grip Assemblies are Army Qualified Products List (QPL) 6645. Therefore, the retrofit will necessarily be an Army QPL 6645 acquisition utilizing best value with possible multiple contracts. Offerors pre sently qualified to produce the existing MIRPS Pack Tray and the existing MIRPS Ripcord Grip Assembly shall be considered qualified to apply the MIRPS SLCP retrofit to the specific component(s) they are qualified for. However, a first article will be nec essary. Non-qualified offerors may pursue qualification for one or both components in accordance with the applicable requirements of MIL-DTL-6645J. The government will furnish a pack tray and/or ripcord grip assembly with current retrofit drawings to tho se offerors who would like to pursue qualification. All offerors who are not currently qualified will be required to pass QPL testing and approval before contract award. For information on obtaining qualification, please contact Gail Pitts at 508-233-592 1 or email at gail.pitts@natick.army.mil. Firms will not be reimbursed for any cost associated with QPL qualification. Questions may be addressed to Gail Pitts 508-233-5921, by email gail.pitts@natick.army.mil or data faxed at 508-2333-5286.
