Description
Sources are being sought for the design, fabrication, delivery & inst= allation of a space frame system for use by the Federal Aviation Administra= tion (FAA) at the Minneapolis-St. Paul Int=E2=80=99l Airport, Minneapolis, = Minnesota. The source shall provide all labor, technical skills, materials= , equipment and machinery necessary to design, assemble and install the spa= ce frame as described: The space frame will consist of a flat 150=E2=80=99= diameter, hot dipped galvanized steel space frame system onto a Government= -furnished foundation/support & core building. The space frame shall includ= e, expanding metal and walkway grating, handrails, hatches, ladders, embedm= ents and all necessary appurtenances. The space frame will be designed to r= est on four moment based concrete columns and a single concrete tower which= will be provided by the Government and designed to support antennas which = will be installed by the Government. The space frame supports a flat surfa= ce of expanded metal at a height of approximately 50 feet above the ground.= This surface is used as a reflecting surface for navigational antennas. Pa= rts of the structure will be covered with walkable grating to provide a sur= face to access equipment and easily move about the structure. Services als= o include unpacking and inspection at the job site, organizing and arrangin= g for assembly, replacing all damaged or defective parts, assemble as requi= red to facilitate installation atop the foundation/support and provide tech= nical assistance in final inspection and acceptance of the space frame. De= sign, fabrication and delivery is estimated at 240 calendar days. Assembly= /erection is estimated at 90-120 calendar days. Offer range is estimated b= etween $725,000 to $825,000. Interested firms should request a pre-qualifi= cation Screening Information Request (SIR) Application No. DTFAGL-03-R-3436= 7. SIR application is to be filled out and returned to evaluate the applica= nt's relevant and current past performance history. Requests will be honor= ed via fax (847/294-7801), by letter or email (melody.mcgovern@faa.gov) onl= y. No telephone requests will be accepted. REQUESTS FOR THE SIR APPLICATI= ON PACKAGE WILL BE ACCEPTED ON OR BEFORE CLOSE OF BUSINESS APRIL 25, 2003. = Interested firms MUST SPECIFY THEIR BUSINESS SIZE STATUS AND THEIR EMAIL AD= DRESS IN THEIR REQUEST. Upon completion of evaluation process, only those = firms determined to be qualified will be sent a Request for Offer (RFO). Th= e RFO is anticipated to be available by June 2003.=20 For informational purposes for Minority, Women-Owned and Disadvantaged Busi= ness Enterprises: The Department of Transportation (DOT), Office of Small a= nd Disadvantaged Business Utilization, has programs to assist small busines= ses, small businesses owned and controlled by a socially and economically d= isadvantaged individuals, and women-owned concerns to acquire capital and b= onding assistance for transportation-related contracts. This is applicable to any eligible prime or subcontract at any = tier. The DOT Bonding Assistance Program enables firms to apply for bid, p= ayment, and performance bonds up to $1.0 million per contract. The DOT pro= vides an 80 percent guaranty on the bond amount to a surety against losses.= Loans are also available under the DOT Short Term Lending Program (STLP) = at prime interest rates to provide accounts receivable financing. The maxi= mum line of credit is $500,000.
