Description
Pre-Service Training Directors/Master Trainers/Technical Trainers/Coordinators-Potential Sources Sought. The Peace Corps anticipates a need over the next year for qualified Personal Service Contractors (individuals, not organizations or companies) for short term training positions. Typical contract positions include: Pre-Service Training Director, Pre-Service Training Technical Trainers/Coordinators, Language Specialists (who are certified ACTFL Language tester trainers). Other contract positions requested may include: Workshop Facilitators, Training Designers and Project Designers, Writers/Editors for Materials Development, and Monitoring and Evaluation Specialists. Personal Service Contracts in specific countries are contingent upon request for assistance from requiring Peace Corps Post which include several countries of the former Soviet Union, Eastern Europe, Africa, Asia and the Pacific. Each position will have specific requirements related to the specialty and as detailed in a Statement of Work (SOW). Pre-Service Training Directors are responsible for the overall leadership, management, administration, coordination of Pre-Service Training (PST) and are responsible to senior Peace Corps staff in all matters of communications, reporting, evaluation of contractor staff and trainees, and documentation of training activities. The PST Director serves as chief administrator of all training activities including business aspects of the training. They are responsible for directing trainee learning and are the liaison person for the training with staff and host country agencies. Trainer/Coordinator duties include, but are not limited to, development of training design, development of new training materials, contacting and securing resource persons, completing a technical training manual, preparing a budget, etc. Demonstrated competence in the relevant specialty is mandatory. Ability to communicate clearly and work within an established organizational framework within strict timelines is necessary. Mandatory Qualifications for all PST training positions include: strong management and organizational skills, training design experience, facilitating and implementing experimental training and non-formal education methodology, large group facilitation and stand up training, expertise in a technical area (Agriculture, Education, Women and Gender, Diversity, Forestry, Health, HIV/AIDS, TEFL, Small Business Development, or Youth Development). Highly desirable qualifications: knowledge of Peace Corps training philosophy and methodologies, region- or country-specific experience, appropriate foreign language skills, master?s degree in related field, substantial overseas experience, and experience with community-based training (CBT). Directly related recent training and design experience required, region-specific experience and fluency in a foreign language(s) a plus. Housing and transportation will be provided for contractor only, no dependents. Some personal hardship and lack of modern conveniences should be expected. Contracts will generally be short-term, generally two to five months. No benefits are offered beyond Peace Corps required liability insurance and medevac insurance.
