Description
NA The Technical Support Working Group solicits interest in manufacturing and commercialization of a new design of small caliber (.357) disrupter. The .357 Micro Disrupter tool is meant to disrupt letter bombs, booby traps, suspicious packages, firing devices , etc. The Micro Disrupter tool is a miniaturized disrupter sized in .357 caliber, which comes with two interchangeable barrels, one rifled and the other smooth bore for different applications. Additional components to be produced with the disrupter include: PAN disrupter stand adapter, cleaning tools and spare firing system parts. This disrupter incorporates a breach and firing pin system based upon U.S. Navy Patent # 4,957,027 - Versatile Nonelectric Disarmer (VND) covering EOD devices that utilize a shock tube firing circuit. Manufacturers of this device must have or obtain a lic ense for use of this patent. Those with a license may request the design package directly. The design package is available only in electronic format. Manufacturers and Distributors of this product also must agree that sales of the device will be restricted to Federal, State, and local governments. Further, manufacturers must agree not to alter the design without consultation with and retesting by the go vernment developer. Vendors also must assume all liability for the use of the systems. The Technical Support Working Group (TSWG) is the U.S. Government's national forum that identifies, prioritizes, and coordinates interagency and international research and development (R&D) requirements for combating terrorism.
