Description
The US Army TACOM-ARDEC is conducting a market survey to identify potential sources of probabilistic toolsets for reducing qualification testing for a variety of munition systems to be fielded by the US Army and reducing the weight of currently fielded munition-packaging systems that include, but are not limited to, small arms, 2.75-inch rockets, mortars, etc. The US Army is interested in industry submissions of probabilistic toolsets that have the following capabilities: 1) Windows Based Stand Alone Software, 2) Linking with a Commercially Available Windows-Based Finite Element Package to perform drop test simulations (i.e., Mechanical Event Simulator by Algor) by performing analyses using the following techniques: First-Order Reliability Methods (FORM), Second-Order Reliability Methods (SORM), Simulation Methods (SM), Importance Sampling Methods (ISM), Response Surface Methods (RSM), Mean Value Based Methods (MVBM), 3) Calculating statistical parameters (i.e., mean, variance, distribution type, etc.) given a limited set of input data, 4) Constructing a Mathematical Model given a limited set of input and response data; and that all input variables shall be statistical in nature (non-deterministic) and that all output data shall include probability assessment (non-deterministic), 5) Output must include Sensitivity Data, and 6) Training on the use of the software shall be provided. Interested firms who feel that they are capable of supplying these probabilistic toolsets are invited to indicate their interest by providing specifications, brochures, and/or drawings within two weeks of the date of this notice to US Army TACOM-ARDEC, ATTN: Anthony D?Angelo Jr., AMSTA-AR-WEP, Bldg. 455, Picatinny Arsenal, New Jersey 07806-5000, email: andangel@pica.army.mil. Any technical questions that you may have, the POC is Anthony D?Angelo Jr., at (973) 724-4976. In addition, please provide the company?s name, address, point of contact with telephone number and email address, size of business (small/large) and country represented. This is a market survey for information only and shall not be construed as a request for proposal or as an obligation on the part of the US Government. The US Government does not intend to award a contract on the basis of this market survey or otherwise pay for information solicited.
