- Description
- The Air Armament Center (AAC) at Eglin Air Force Base, Florida, intends to solicit, negotiate, and award a requirement for packing and containerization, and drayage of personal property services. The contractor shall provide all labor, equipment, tools, materials, supervision, and services necessary in connection with delivery, service, pick up and transportation to perform this requirement. Services may include premove survey, servicing of appliances, disassembly of furniture, if required, packaging, inventorying, tagging, wrapping, padding, packing and bracing of household goods in government-owed and furnished shipping containers at owner’s residence, or at contractor’s facility when ordered by the contracting officer, properly securing and sealing for shipment, weighing, obliterating old markings, marking, strapping, and drayage of the container with in an area of performance. Service shall also include loading of shipments on line-haul carrier’s equipment. Outbound house-hold goods, Inbound house-hold goods, and intra-city/intra-area moves for the Eglin AFB area which consists of the Main Base, auxiliary fields, ranges, and test sites as well as Okaloosa, Walton, Holmes, and Santa Rosa Counties. All work shall be accomplished in accordance with the Performance work Statement based on Defense Transportation Regulation, Personal Property, DoD 4500.9R, Part IV, Period of performance will be from 1 July 03 to 31 Dec 03 with 4 1-year options. The North American Industry Classification System (NAICS) is 488991 and the small business size standards $18.5 million. . The solicitation/Request for Proposal (RFP) is a total Small Business set aside. All responsible small business contractors are encouraged to participate. Expect the solicitation to be posted to this site on or about 1 May 03. Telephone requests to be placed on the mailing list will not be honored. The solicitation package must be downloaded from Http://eps.gov; no hard copies will be available. No telephone inquiries will be accepted. This acquisition will be solicited in accordance with FAR Part 12, Acquisition of Commercial items. All prospective offerors must be registered in the Central Contractor Registration Database (CCR) at www.ccr.gov <http://www.ccr.gov> prior to the anticipated date of award.
