Description

The U.S. Department of Commerce, National Severe Storms Laboratory (NSSL) proposes to negotiate on a sole source basis contract under the authority of 41 U.S.C. 253(c)(1) with Vieux & Associates, Inc. for the continued development, enhancement, training, configuration, and deployment of the commercially available modeling software package Vflo: A real-time Distributed Hydrologic Model, as part of NSSLs Hydrological Decision Support System (HDSS). This requirement is for NSSL to continue the collaboration to improve flood monitoring and forecasting capability in Taiwan by the continued enhancement and refinement of the Vflow model under the sponsorship of the Taiwan Central Weather Bureau (CWB) and Water Resource Agency. Period of Performance shall be May 15, 2003 through October 31, 2003. This procurement is being conducted per FAR Part 13, Simplified Acquisition Procedures (NTE 100K). This synopsis is issued for information only. No competitive solicitation is planned. Information submitted in response to this notice will be used solely to determine whether or not use of competitive procedures to fulfill this requirement would be in the Government's best interest and must address qualifications pertinent to this requirement.
