Description
The performance-based services covered in this solicitation and resultant contract require the contractor furnish all labor, equipment, supervision, transportation, operating supplies, and incidentals necessary to perform road maintenance on roads specified herein, in compliance with the terms, specifications, and conditions stated herein. Work shall be accomplished with a motor grader with sufficient capacity to meet the performance requirements. The work consists of performing road maintenance operations on the project roads listed below. Forest and project road conditions vary significantly from road to road. Some have varying depths of road base as a surfacing material while others have native materials as a road surface, some a mixture of both. Existing road widths, drainage facilities, and road grades change by road segments. Roadway drainage conditions are generally poor. Some roads may be difficult for motor grader operations. Some roads have limited public use while others may have significant use during recreational periods such as weekends, holidays, and hunting seasons. Roads without an improved road generally provide travel for high clearance vehicles such as trucks, sport utility vehicles, and ATVs. Roads with improved road surfaces, such as pit run aggregate or crushed aggregate surface, generally provide travel for both high and low clearance vehicles such as passenger cars and occasional ATV traffic. Summer rainstorms have the potential to suspend vehicle and equipment operations until roadbeds dry sufficiently to continue road maintenance operations. Projects are located on the Fishlake National Forest, Sevier and Wayne Counties, UT. HUBZone set aside. Solicitation package will approx. be uploaded onto FedBizOpps on May 9, 2003.*****
