- NA DESCRIPTION: This is a synopsis for a firm-fixed price contract for all labor, equipment, materials, incidentals and personnel required or necessary (except that specified as Government furnished) to repair the existing hangar at Baer Field, Ft. Wayne Int ernational Airport, Ft. Wayne, IN. This procurement will be solicited on an unrestricted basis using SIC 1542. The project consists of renovation of approximately 25,000SF of Hangar Bldg replacing the heating system; installing ceiling and gas fired heat units; upgrade infra-red/ultra-violet fire detectors and install new fire suppression/high expansive foam system ; install electrical receptacles in main hangar bay; replace air conditioning system; relocate interior walls; upgrade floor, wall, and ceiling surfaces to include a new dropped ceiling system in the hangar bay; paint new area, entire interior of east and north hangar and lean-to's and the hangar floor; repair exterior walls, doors, and windows; paint hangar door. The magnitude of the project is between $1,000,000 and $5,000,000. Performance period for this contract will be approximately 300 days after issuance of Notice to Proceed. The RFP, DAHA12-03-R-0002, will be issued on or about 26 May 2003 with a bid openi ng date on 26 June 2003 at 1300 hours (local) at Contracting Officers address. The dates as stated are finalized in the RFP. Any changes to the bid opening date will be published via amendment to the RFP. The site visit is scheduled 10 June 2003 at 1000 hours at Baer Field, Ft. Wayne IAP, IN and is listed in the RFP. The plans and RFP may be viewed at Construction Market Data, either at 5804 West 78th Street, Indianapolis, IN or at 1415 Director's row, Ft. Wayne, IN, and Dodge Reports, either at 6666 Ea st 75th Street, Indianapolis, IN or at 4705 Illinois Road, Ft. Wayne, IN or purchased from Architecture International Consulting, Inc., 5519 East 82nd Street, Suite H, Indianapolis, IN 46250. The RFP will also be available at Architecture International Co nsulting, Inc. Requests for the RFP should be submitted before 10 June 2003; only written requests will be accepted. Recipients that do not submit a bid should notify the Contract Specialist if they wish to be considered for future notices. All firms th at request a solicitation shall identify the status of their firm as a large business, small business, small disadvantaged business, emerging small business, 8 (a) business or woman-owned business. A subcontracting plan will be required if the successful bidder is a large business. Award can only be made to a Contractor who is registered with the Central Contractor Registration database as required by DFARS. Contractor must be Electronic Funds Transfer capable.
