Description
This is a Sources Sought Notice for Market Research only for the Department of Defense Education Activity (DoDEA) Office of System Accountability. There is no solicitation available at this time. Requests for a solicitation will not receive a response. As a civilian agency of the U.S. Department of Defense, DoDEA operates 224 public schools in 21 districts located in 14 foreign countries, seven states, Guam, and Puerto Rico with approximately 8,800 teachers serving 106,000 students. The purpose of this Sources Sought is to identify sources that can provide commercial off-the-shelf (COTS) curriculum materials and software program that shall enhance student learning and performance through instructional classroom techniques and computer technology for the courses of Algebra I and Geometry for High School grade levels 9-12. Qualified sources shall have material program and curriculum materials that: 1) Address the NCTM standards which emphasize communication, connections, reasoning, problem solving, and the use of technology as a tool. 2) Are designed to allow students to work cooperatively on activities in the classroom as well as individually in a computer laboratory. 3) Give students the opportunity to: 3a) Link the numeric, verbal, graphic and symbolic representations while using spreadsheets and calculators to investigate and solve real world problems. 3b) Experience a variety of routine and non-routine problems, provide diverse assessment techniques including embedded assessment with instruction and provide immediate explicit feedback to students. 4) Incorporate Algebra I curriculum materials and software program that promotes the development students' understanding of fundamental algebraic concepts through discovery and multiple representations. 5) Incorporate a Geometry curriculum materials and software program that explores and develops students' understanding of geometric concepts as well as develop students' spatial reasoning skills. This is a Sources Sought Notice for MARKET RESEARCH ONLY. NO SOLICITATION DOCUMENTS EXIST AT THIS TIME. Responses shall include: a) Your company's name and statement of capabilities; b) Names, addresses and phone numbers of references to document prior performance; c) One demonstration CD each of the Algebra and the Geometry Software Programs; and d) One sample each of the curriculum materials which align to the respective Algebra and Geometry CD programs. Materials submitted in response to this sources sought notification will not be returned unless the respondent provides appropriate prepaid postage return with their submission.
