- Description
- The Bureau of Land Management (BLM) is seeking a qualified firm to design, fabricate, ship and install interior and exterior exhibits and related products and services for two new Interpretive Centers depcting the Lewis and Clark Expedition. These vistor centers are to be constructed and opened in Montana between 2003 and 2006. The successful contractor shall provide all personnel, equipment, tools, materials, supervision and other items and services necessary to perform interpretive exhibit design, fabrication, shipping and installation. The contractor shall be a full service interpretive exhibit company, capable of providing complete design and fabrication services for both interior and exterior exhibits. This project will coordinate closely with the building design and construction efforts for each center. This project is open to both large and small businesses. Bonds will be required as follows: Bid Guarantee, 20% of the bid price, Payment and Performance Bonds - 100% of contract price. Award of this project will be made on best value to the Government considering price and technical factors. This solicitation will be available by electronic posting only and may be found at www.fedbizopps.gov. Contractors will be required to print the bidding documents for submission of their offer at the place designated for receipt of offers. The solicitation documents will be posted on or about May 19, 2003. All contractors are strongly encouraged to register at the Central Contractor Registration (CCR) website at www.ccr.gov. Any firm already registered, should ensure your profile is updated. This registration is necessary to receive amendments notifications, contract awards, and facilitate payments. The project consists of two separate tasks. As each Center is at a different stage of interpretive program development, building design and has a different budget, the period of performance will be different on each task. Pompey's Pillar National Monument Visitor Center, located approximately 30 miles east of Billings, MT, is currently in the final stages of design. Construction of the facility is anticipated to begin in December 2003 and open June 2005. There will be approximately 1800 sf of exhibit space and 1300 sf of gallery. The interpretive exhibits must be designed, fabricated and installed no later than April 2005. An Interpretive Prospectus and Conceptual Design are completed and will be used to further develop the exhibits. Upper Misouri River Breaks National Monument Visitor Center, located in Ft. Benton, MT, is currently in the conceptual stage of design. The facility will include approximately 2000 sf of interior exhibit space and some exterior exhibits. Construction is expected to begin in 2004 and open November 2005. The interpretive exhibits must be designed, fabricated and installed no later than September 2005. An Interpretive Prospectus is completed and will be used to further develop the exhibits.
