Description
The contractor will serve as a training instructor and will develop and instruct mine safety classes regarding the inspection of electrical circuitry and equipment in both the coal and metal/nonmetal industries. The selected individual will also develop and instruct classes regarding the inspection of underground diesel mining equipment and permissibility. The individual will be responsible for the development of instructional work guides, lesson plans, laboratory exercises, tests, evaluation methods, and other materials related to the classes he/she will be instructing. These classes will be presented to both coal and metal/nonmetal entry level and journeyman inspection personnel. The contractor will also develop and create computer based programs regarding electrical circuitry as well as electrical and diesel equipment. These programs must be developed such that they can be used as interactive web based training to be included on the MSHA Homepage. Applicants must possess an expert knowledge of regulations and policies of MSHA. The individual must also be very knowledgeable about the inspection activities and procedures used by MSHA. The individual must possess a professional knowledge electrical engineering, diesel equipment, electrical equipment, and all types of mining equipment. The ability to effectively communicate both orally and in writing is crucial. the individual must also possess the knowledge necessary to develop computer based training programs. The selected individual must be available to instruct courses at the Academy upon very short notice. An expert knowledge of all phases of mining and mining systems, both coal and metal/nonmetal mining, are essential for applicants to have. No telephone request will be honored.
