Description
Services of an Architectural or Engineering firm with specialized experience in design and construction of hospital projects to participate in investigation, design, preparation of working drawings/construction documents, and construction period services for Project No. 596-03-105, =93REPLACE FIRE ALARM SYSTEM, LD=94 at VA Medical Center, Leestown Road Division, Lexington, KY. Project involves=20 removal of existing fire alarm system and complete replacement with state of the art system suitable for hospital occupancy throughout the entire Leestown campus, as well as replacement of the HVAC controls system. The replacement fire alarm system will be designed to operate independent of the HVAC control system. Estimated construction cost range is between $1,000,000 and $2,000,000. Project drawings will be accomplished in the AutoCad.dwg format; specifications will be accomplished in the Microsoft Word .doc format. Area of consideration is restricted to firms within 100 miles radius of VAMC, Lexington, KY.=20 Interested firms, with required specialization must submit two copies each of Standard Form 254, Architect-Engineer and Related Services Questionnaire and Standard Form 255, Architect Engineer and Related Services Questionnaire for Specific Project, to the issuing office no later than 3:00 p.m. June 17, 2003. Respondents will be reviewed on the basis of: professional qualifications; specialized experience and technical competence in projects of similar type; ability to accomplish the work in the required timeframe; and past performance on contracts for projects of similar type. With reference to the Small Business Competitiveness Demonstration Program, this solicitation is issued on an unrestricted basis. North American Industrial Classification System No. 541310, with a size standard of $4 million, is applicable. This is not a Request for Proposals.
