Description
The US Army TACOM-ARDEC is conducting a market survey to identify potential sources for the Installation of a 4-Nozzle Pour Machine and Cast/Cure Pilot Plant Manufacturing and Loading Facility. The equipment and systems included in the facility will be utilized to formulate, handle, and load energetic materials, specifically cast-cure military grade high-explosives. The contractor shall provide all necessary labor, parts, tools, test equipment, and transportation as required for the completion of the services requested. The services that will be performed will include design, fabrication, and installation of a stainless steal 4-Nozzle Pour Machine. Also included is the design, integration, and installation of dual-planetary vertical mixer with jacket, vacuum, and agitation system, pusher plate system with 4-nozzle pouring manifold, metal parts preheat oven, remote dry energetic feeding system, projectile buggies/tooling blocks with vibration capability, and a temperature/humidity controlled curing oven. The contractor will take the limitations of the existing operating facility into consideration when designing and planning installation of the new equipment. The contractor will be required to supply all controls (remote and on-site) to all equipment as required by operational standards in Safety Manual AMCR 385-100, Ammunition and Explosives Safety Standards DAPAM 385-64, Engineering and Drawing Practices MIL- STD-100, Drawings, Engineering, and Associated Lists MIL-DTL-31000, American National Standard Institute A165.3, and American Society of Mechanical Engineers Boiler Code. Utility connects and disconnects will be from existing primary shop sources. The contractor will perform this effort in two phases: Phase I-Design and Review of Equipment and Systems Fabrication; Phase II- Installation, Integration, System Debug, and Testing. The contractor will adhere to OSHA and Army Explosive Safety Regulations throughout the execution of the contract. The installation of the required equipment will not impact the ongoing operations being conducted in the operating facility, which will require the contractor to work between 1700 to 0600 hours, Monday through Friday, depending on explosive loading. Upon installation the contractor will be required to demonstrate, test, and debug all equipment so that it meets or exceeds the operational standards in Safety Manual AMCR 385-100, Ammunition and Explosives Safety Standards DAPAM 385-64, Engineering and Drawing Practices MIL- STD-100, Drawings, Engineering, and Associated Lists MIL-DTL-31000, American National Standard Institute A165.3, and American Society of Mechanical Engineers Boiler Code.
