- Description
- FLUORESCENCE IMAGING CAMERAS: Naval Surface Warfare Center (NSWC), Port Hueneme Division (PHD), Louisville Detachment, in conjunction with the National Surface Treatment Center, is seeking sources to build and test two cameras for use in technology development that will enhance the inspection of shipboard tank surface coatings. This fabrication and testing is FOR INFORMATION ONLY and no contracts will be awarded by NSWC, PHD, Louisville Detachment as a result of this fabrication and testing. Sources interested in participating in the production and testing of cameras shall respond with proposals that include separate pricing for two cameras not later than May 9, 2003. The first of two cameras that are lightweight, rugged, portable, and dirt/moisture resistant shall be delivered ready for testing not later than June 20, 2003. The second camera shall be delivered not later than Jul y 20, 2003. For performance testing, tank coatings loaded with fluorescent pigments are illuminated with ultra-violet light, and digital imaging from the camera must reveal coating defects. An ultra-violet light source for an image area of 16.5 X 22 inches must also be part of this portable camera package. Manpack configuration for entire system, 4 hour battery operation, and handheld configuration for the camera-light source component are required. Ultimate goal is to receive camera input through software that will search out defects and display percent defect information to operator. Detailed list of other specifications is available upon request from the Project Manager. THIS IS A REQUEST FOR MANUFACTURER'S PRODUCTS OR FOR THE CONFIGURATION OF SEVERAL MANUFACTURERS'S COMPONENTS BY ANOTHER PARTY, INTO A FINAL PRODUCT THAT WILL PARTICIPATE IN THIS COMPREHENSIVE TESTING. NSWC P HD LOUISVILLE DETACHMENT WILL NOT AWARD A CONTRACT ON THE BASIS OF THIS PRODUCTION AND TESTING. Sources submitting proposals that project a delivery date of one or both cameras prior to 20 June will be looked upon favorably. Those that project a higher standard of quality or performance, but which cannot meet the required delivery date, may still be considered. Proposals should be submitted to: Paul Gossen, Project Manager, National Surface Treatment Center, 1930 Bishop Lane, Suite 1011, Louisville, KY 40218-1929, phone (502)452-1131 X312, email pgossen@nstcenter.com.
