- Description
- The National Cancer Institute (NCI), Center for Cancer Research (CCR), Cancer Therapeutics Branch (CTB), Molecular Profiling Core, has a need to lease an ACIS II imaging system from Chroma Vision 33171 Paseo Cerveza, San Juan Capistrano, CA 92675. The lease shall be for a 12 month base period plus two 12 month option periods to renew the lease if exercised by the Government. This acquisition is being conducted under the procedures for acquiring commercial items authorized in FAR Part 12 and the authority to use simplified procedures for commercial requirements provided in FAR 13.5. The North American Industry Classification System code is 334516 and the business size standard is 500 employees. Period of Performance: One year upon award with a two option year period. FAR Clause 52.217-8 Option to Extend Services (November 1999) and FAR Clause52.217-9 Option to Extend the Term of the Contract (March 2000) apply. The Molecular Profiling Core requires an imaging system that allows to quantitatively analyze immunohistochemistry, DNA ploidy, microvessel density and tissue microarrays which will be used in the processing of tumor, bone marrow, skin or buccal biopsies of patients with breast and other types of cancers treated in various clinical trials. It has a proprietary color space transformation which uses a three-dimensional plot of color coordinates, by hue, saturation and intensity. The imaging systems has received a 510K FDA clearance for use as an aid in the management, prognosis and prediction of therapy outcomes of breast cancer. This is not a request for competitive quotation. However, if any interested party believes it can meet the above requirement, it may submit a statement of capabilities. The statement of capabilities and any other information furnished must be in writing and must contain material in sufficient detail to allow the NCI researcher to determine if the party can perform this requirement. An original and one copy of the capability statements must be received in the contracting office by 1:00 p.m. EDT, on May 7, 2003. A determination by the Government not to compete this proposed requirement based upon responses to this notice is solely within the discretion of the Government. Information received will be considered solely for the purpose of determining whether to conduct a competitive procurement. No collect calls will be accepted.
