Description
The National Institutes of Health has a requirement to procure specialized housekeeping services to increased assign areas within the Warren Grant Magnuson Clinical Center. The current facility is 14-story building with more than 5000 rooms and estimates at 2.5 million square feet, 24 inpatient care units, 15 outpatient clinics, and 267 beds, with an enormous Clinical Pathology Department. The Clinical Center serves as the focal point for all clinical studies for all of the NIH. Specialized housekeeping services are required for the Clinical Center. The contractor shall furnish all labor and supervision necessary to perform the specialized cleaning services to the additional assign areas for the Partial Option Year 3 and Option Year 4. The total assign areas are estimated at 161,740 square feet. This covers approximately 80,870 square feet of the Clinical Center per option year. Those areas to be covered are O.R. Department Midnight shift only; 13 East Patient Care and 13 floor Pharmacy Section; 13 West, 12East, 11 East and West Patient Care Units; 12 West and 10 West offices; 10 East Laboratories and Offices; and 10D-ICU. The contractor shall have employees on duty 24 hours per day, 365 days per year including holidays to service all areas designated. The period of performance for these services shall be from July 1, 2003 through November 30, 2004. The labor categories required are an estimated at 20.2 and 1.5 supervisory. The contractor shall have passed two consecutive Joint Commission for Accreditation for Health Care Organization (JCAHO) surveys with no deficiencies. Also the contractor must comply with all applicable federal and state government regulations regarding control of infectious diseases in the healthcare facility. Professional Services Inc. under Contract No N02-CL-00005 is currently providing this requirement. NIH intends to modify the housekeeping services under the existing contract with Professional Services Contract No. N02-CL-00005 for the Partial Option Period 3 and Option Year 4. Interested parties may identify their interest and capabilities based on the criteria set-forth in this announcement to respond to the requirement or submit proposals. THIS NOTICE OF INTENT IS NOT A REQUEST FOR COMPETITIVE PROPOSALS. However, the Government will consider all proposals received within 45 days after publication of this synopsis. A determination by the Government not to compete this proposed contract based upon the responses to this notice is solely within the discretion of the Government. Information received will be considered solely for the purpose of determining whether to conduct a competitive procurement.
