- NA The CECOM RDEC is seeking sources and information for a Common Missile Warning System (CMWS) AN/AAR-57 production program for up to 59 systems. The delivery of the first 4 systems shall be 90 days after contract award. The contact will be a firm fixed pr ice contract for three years. This system is used by rotary and fixed wing aircraft to detect the launch and flight of threat Surface to Air Missiles (SAM) and provide audible and visual warnings to the pilot(s). The CMWS includes the Improved Countermea sure Dispenser (ICMD) that activates expendables to provide the countermeasures. The ICMD is capable of being loaded with, and dispensing, three or more types of expendables, such as flares, chaff and smoke/aerosol. The CMWS must be designed to meet the flight and environment requirements of the DoD?s tactical and rotary wing aircraft as represented by the F-16, F-15, AV-8B, F-18, A-10,UH/MH-60, AH-64, and CH/MH-47. The AN/AAR-57 system shall be composed of the following components: An Electronic Contro l Unit (ECU) and 4 to 6 Electro Optical Sensors and up to 4 ICMDs where an ICMD is defined as 1 sequencer and 2 smart dispenser (SD) buckets. The ECU shall weigh not more than 17 pounds. The Electro Optical Sensors shall weigh not more than 3 pounds eac h and shall not exceed 4.275 inches in depth and shall not require calibration upon installation. The SD portion of the ICMD shall weigh not more than 7.2 pounds. The ICMD shall utilize the Army?s latest generation of expendables and shall have the capab ility to sense a minimum of sixteen (16) payload codes. The ICMD shall have the capability to monitor expendable munitions firings upon system or manual cue. The CMWS shall be capable of interfacing with the F-16, F-15, AV-8B, F-18 and A-10. The CMWS sh all have established interfaces with the UH/MH-60, AH-64D and CH/MH-47 and not require unique configuration (i.e. software loads) for installation on aircraft of the same type. The source shall also provide Form Fit and Function Shop Replaceable Units (SRU) spares for the AN/AAR-57?s already fielded to the Special Operation Aviation Regiment. The government does not possess a Technical Data Package for the AN/AAR-57 and has Lim ited Rights to the specification and interface documentation.
