- Follow-on requirement for Engineering Services for the development and sustainment of the U.S. Navy?s electronic Tooling Information Management System (eTIMS). eTIMS is a technical and logistics automated information system, providing 100% asset visibility of detailed production applications for 430,000 U.S. Navy aircraft Special Tooling and Special Test Equipment (ST/STE). ETIMS employs a three-tier client server, written in Powerbuilder 7.0, using Oracle 8i, and internet data transmission. The eTIMS server components must be compliant with CORBA (Common Object Request Broker Architecture) specification and talk IIOPS (Internet Inter-ORB Protocol Secured). All communication between eTIMS client applications and eTIMS transaction servers are encrypted with 128-bit SSL encryption. This requirement is anticipated to be a 5-year Indefinite Delivery, Indefinite Quantity (IDIQ) c ontract for Services (1 base year + 4 option years), for full scale analysis and integration of additional production data for ST/STE, and is expected to also provide for the disposition of AV-8B Production Line Transition (PLT) tooling, and anticipated inclusion of other Navy platforms onto eTIMS (to include the S-3, E-2C and V-22 aircraft). This requirement includes (but is not limited to): new design for process improvement and sustainment, periodic data loads, problem resolution, system backup, and software support. The contractor will be required to perform and/or provide (but not be limited to) the following: Provide functional and technical expertise to insure continued integration and integrity of the eTIMS system, Be expert in, and have legal license, to the aforementioned software applications, Provide application support for system analysis, and tuning and review o f security files, Configure hardware components as necessary to maintain the eTIMS application, Have expert understanding of the Navy?s Production and Post-Production processes, as they correlate to eTIMS, relating to service life extension, battle and crash damage, airframe changes, and depot level repair and production, Host the client server, Provide secure internet access for all applications.
