NOUN: Connecting Link; NSN: 3040-00-365-0248NZ; PN: 4022230; QTY: 40 or 79 or 119 (actual quantity will be determined at time of award); U/I: Each; DELIVERY: August 2003 to Tinker AFB OK; APPLICABLE: F100PW229 Engine. SIZE/DIMENSIONS: Approximately 5 inches X 8 inches; PREDOMINANT MATERIAL: Steel Alloy; FORM/FIT/FUNCTION: Connecting Link Rigid Electronic Supervisory Control. Anticipated solicitation issue date: 01 May 2003. Anticipated award date: 02 June 2003. No telephone solicitation requests will be accepted. To be eligible for contract award, offerors must be approved sources. The Government is not required to delay contract award to review pending Source Approval Requests (SARs). Therefore, offerors are encouraged to submit SARs as soon as possible. If the Government has not completed review of the SAR when the contract is awarded, the SAR will be retained and the source will be reviewed for possible Source Approval for future awards. Government Furnished drawings are not available. Qualification Requirements (QRs) are available and additional information concerning the approval process is available. The award is expected to be made to an approved source. Approved sources are: Pratt and Whitney and Ambel Precision. NOTE: An ombudsman has been appointed to hear concerns from offerors or potential offerors during the proposal development phase of this acquisition. The purpose of the ombudsman is not to diminish the authority of the Program manager or contracting officer, but to communicate contractor concerns, issues, disagreements, and recommendations to the appropriate Government personnel. When requested, the ombudsman will maintain strict confidentiality as to source of the concern. The Ombudsman does not participate in the evaluation of proposals or in the source selection process.
