Description: Blue Ridge #4 Precommercial Thinning and Slash Treatment - Work includes thinning of ponderosa pine trees to a 15 X 15 foot spacing or 3 feet between crowns, whichever distance is greater. Trees up to 9 inches in diameter breast height will be cut. Slash will be lopped below 2 feet, except areas adjacent to Forest Roads 95 and 211 which will be piled. Approx. 1,382 acres thin and lop, 55 acres thin and pile; Total 1,437 acres. The project area is located approximately 40 miles south of Winslow, Arizona along Highway 87. The project is adjacent to the Blue Ridge Ranger Station and can be reached by traveling Forest Roads 95 and 211.
