- This publication serves as a notice of intent to negotiate a sole source contract with L3 Communications to provide an upgrade to the existing Seabeam 2112 system to meet the hydrographic data requirements of the National Ocean Service (NOS), one of the users of the NOAA Ship Ronald H. Brown. The contract will include both hardware and software modifications, as well as equipment testing, training, warranty services, two sets of Operations and Maintenance manuals to the ship, and shipboard spares consisting of a central processing unit, an acoustic receiver controller, an echo processor hard drive, and a transition module. Period of performance will last sixty days from contract award. To the best of the Government's knowledge and capability, search results provided evidence that there are no other companies that exist in the U.S. who could meet all needed requirements without substantial duplication of cost to the Government that is not expected to be recovered through competition. The NAICS code for this procurement is 334290.
