- Description
- The U. S. Department of Education's Institute of Education Sciences (IES) intends to award a five-year contract to conduct an evaluation of the impact of the Reading First Program on student reading achievement. This study will estimate the impact of the program on student reading achievement by comparing schools that have been randomly assigned to receive Reading First funds with schools that have been randomly assigned to be part of a control group not receiving Reading First funds. The contractor shall prepare an evaluation design, including data collection and analysis plans, conduct data collection in treatment and control schools over a three-year period (with an optional fourth data collection year), analyze data, and prepare reports. The approximate date of release of the RFP is May 26, 2003 and the approximate RFP due date is July 14, 2003.
