- Description
- The Space Sciences Division of the Naval Research Laboratory has a requirement for scientific and technical research and development efforts related to: design, development, fabrication, assembly, and testing of experimental equipment; support of field operations and deployment of experimental packages; satellite design; computer modeling experiment design; data analysis instrument packaging; and payload testing. Specifically, the Laboratory is seeking research, development, and engineering efforts in the following primary task areas: Operation of the Solar Ultraviolet Spectral Irradiance Monitor aboard the Upper Atmosphere Research Satellite; Design, Assembly and Calibration of Remote Sensing Equipment; Development and Operation of Space-Based Coronagraphs and Imagers; Design, Development, Fabrication and Assembly of Experiments Flown on Sounding Rockets; Testing and Evaluation of Detector and Camera Systems; Design and Development of Enhancements to the Navy Prototype Optical Interferometer System; Design, Fabrication, Assembly and Testing of various Specialized Laboratory Equipment and Facilities, Prototype Instrumentation and Software, and Analysis Software for Space Instrument Operation; and Design, Fabrication, Assembly and Testing of various Specialized Laboratory Equipment and Facilities to be shared by various project and programs. A detailed statement of work, personnel requirements, and contract data requirements will be included in the solicitation file. The anticipated period of performance for any resulting contract will be one base year with four option years. This Solicitation is 100% Set-Aside for Small Business. NRL uses Electronic Commerce (EC) to issue RFPs and amendments to RFPs. This solicitation and any amendments to it will be available via the Internet approximately fifteen (15) days after publication of this announcement at the URL address provided below.
