- Description
- Provide all labor, material, equipment and transportation necessary for install complete and operable water and sewer systems for the existing floating dock at U.S. Coast Guard Station Bellingham, Bellingham , Washington. The work includes but is not limited to the following: (A) Provide a complete 4-inch diameter sanitary sewage discharge system from the existing floating dock to the city?s sewer system. It includes ductile iron piping, flexible pipe, pipe supports/brackets, check valves, gate and globe valves, vaults, disposal connections, packaged lift station with controls, and a manhole; (B) Locate the existing City sewer line stub. Connect the new sanitary sewer line to the existing sewer stub through a new manhole; (C) Establish invert elevations. Slope drainage 1/8 inch per foot to maintain gradient; (D) Provide electrical power to the lift station and make it operational; (E) Provide pipe bollards around the new lift station; (F) Disconnect and cap the existing 1-inch diameter water line. Remove the exposed pipe; (G) Provide new 1-1/2 inch diameter water piping from the location shown to the floating dock. The water piping includes reduced pressure type backflow preventer, pipe support/bracket, ? inch hose bibs, 1-1/2 inch hose connection, isolation valve, valve box, and flexible hose; (H) Obtain a water/sewer permit from the Building Services Division for inspection of the backflow preventer; (I) Upstream of the flexible water hose, provide freeze protection to the new exposed water line. The freeze protection includes heating cable, insulation and pipe jacket. Provide power supply and thermostat to the new heating cable and make it operational; (J) Connect existing water pipe to remain with the new water line; (K) Trench, excavate, and cut concrete floor slab/asphalt pavement for layout of new utilities. Work includes, water line, electric conduit, sewer piping, and packaged lift station. For sewer pipe, provide trench with depth and width as required for pipe and equipment size and invert elevation. Backfill and repave the site to match the surrounding pavement, curb, grass area, and landscape; (L) Furnish the services of a competent instructor to give full instruction to designated Government personnel in the adjustment, operation, and maintenance; including pertinent safety requirements, of the new packaged lift station. Instruction shall be provided for 2 hours. The period of performance is 90 calendar days after Notice to Proceed. This procurement is estimated between $100,000.00 and $250,000.00 and is open to both small and large business. The North American Industry Classification System (NAICS) for this procurement is 237110. Size Standards is $28.5. NO TELEPHONE REQUESTS WILL BE ACCEPTED. The due dates for bids will be approximately 1 July 2003. This date is estimated and may change. For security reasons all Coast Guard drawings are only available through the Federal Technical Data Solution (FedTeDS) which will have a separate link on the FedBizOpps web page identified as Technical Data Package. Offerors will need to register with FedTeDS and receive a user name and password to be able to download Coast Guard drawings. All responsible sources are encouraged to respond.
