- Description
- The Division of Allergy, Immunology and Transplantation (DAIT) has a requirement to solicit additional proposals and expand its research program entitled, ?Innate Immune Receptors and Adjuvant Discovery.? This particular research begins at the discovery/molecular response evaluation stage and progresses to Preclinical testing of new adjuvants based upon triggering of the human innate immune system. Adjuvants are defined as molecules that act via innate immune system signaling to activate desired innate and adaptive (T-cell and antibody-mediated) immune responses. The adjuvant products aimed for in this program may encompass uses both as vaccine adjuvants, to elicit T- and B cell responses when co-administered with an immunogen, as well as stand-alone immunomodulators to stimulate short term protective responses against broad categories of infectious agents. Research must be directed toward vaccine adjuvants and immune stimulation strategies to defend against NIAID categories A, B, or C agents. NIAID intends to release a Broad Agency Announcement (BAA) request for proposals (RFP) in order to solicit competitive proposals for this acquisition. It is anticipated that up to five (5) cost reimbursement, completion type contracts will be awarded for a period of five (5) years, beginning approximately May 30, 2004. RFP NIH-NIAID-DAIT-BAA-04-38 will be available electronically on or about May 27, 2003, and may be accessed through the NIAID Contract Management Branch (CMB) Home page by using the following electronic address and instructions: NIAID/CMB Home Page (via www): Use http://www.niaid.nih.gov/contract to access the NIAID/CMB Home Page. Once at the NIAID/CMB Home Page, click on the "RFPs" link and then click on "RFP NIH-NIAID-DAIT-BAA-04-38." Please note that the RFP for this procurement has been revised to include only the Research and Technical Objectives, deliverable and reporting requirements, special requirements, the Technical Evaluation Criteria, and the proposal preparation instructions. All information required for the submission of an offer will be contained in the electronic RFP package. Following proposal submission and the initial review process, Offerors comprising the competitive range will be requested to provide additional documentation to the Contracting Officer. Responses to this RFP will be due approximately August 27, 2003. Any responsible Offeror may submit a proposal, which will be considered by the Government. This advertisement does not commit the Government to award a contract. See Government wide Numbered Note 26. No collect calls will be accepted.
