Description

The Naval Air Systems Command (NAVAIR) intends to issue an Advanced Acquisition Contract (AAC) to Rolls Royce Corporation that will be definitized as a firm fixed price contract procuring four FY 04 T56-A-427 engines required for production of FY 04 E-2C Aircraft. The AAC will include a life of type buy out of material items in the current configuration of engine controls that are becoming obsolete. NAVAIR intends to issue this AAC on a sole source basis with Rolls Royce Corporation of Indianapolis, Indiana, as Rolls Royce is the sole engine manufacturer of the T56-A-427 turbo propeller engine and is the only source that possesses the knowledge, experience, and technical data necessary to provide the required engines in a timely manner for the purposes of meeting the fleet?s operational needs.
