Description
The U.S. Coast Guard Maintenance and Logistics Command, Pacific is seeking sources to manufacture two identical ship service switchboards with 450 VAC three phase ungrounded delta main bus. The switchboards will be installed on 399' WAGB POLAR Class icebreakers homeported in Seattle, WA. After receipt, the switchboards will be warehoused until they can be installed by a shipyard under a subsequent contract. Warranty will be expected to cover one year after installation, which could be several years after manufacture and delivery to the Coast Guard. The assembled switchgear shall be suitable for marine use, meet the requirements of IEEE Std 45-1998, and have barriers between sections to limit arc fault damage. The switchgear must also be capable of unrestricted continuous operation during Arctic and Antarctic icebreaking operations and shall be qualified to withstand severe vibration under one of the following standards: MIL-STD-167-1 (Type I) or 100% of the GRS III level of IEEE C37.81-1989. The main bus shall be silver plated copper rated for at least 2800 A in a 50?C environment, braced to withstand no less than a 65 kA symmetrical fault. Two 1600 A and two 3000 or 3200 A frame remotely operable drawout circuit breakers, with interrupting and short term withstand ratings of 65 kA or more, shall connect to the main bus. The distribution section shall consist of a minimum of four 400 A, six 225 A, and four 100 A frame molded case circuit breakers, as well as cable lug terminations for a 1600 A bus extension. Reserve space for the generator voltage regulator power transformer and rectifier chassis. Switchboard dimensions shall not exceed 114 inches long (athwartship) by 78? inches high by 44 inches deep (fore/aft). All internal wiring shall be low smoke with compression type ring tongue lugs at all terminal boards and device screw terminals. Interested companies should respond by email to the points of contact listed. Include information regarding whether your business is a small business (the NAICS code is 335313 and the small business size standard is 750 employees) and whether it is a certified HubZone contractor.
