- Description
- The Federal Highway Administration (FHWA) plans to award a sole source purchase order to GTR, Incorporated to perform data reduction and analysis in conjunction with a pile load test program being conducted by Rhode Island Department of Transportation. This service is needed to support the development of FHWA?s database of load test information for bridge pile foundations. GTR is the state?s geotechncial consultant for the load test program responsible for instrumentation design installation and dynamic testing. The data collected belongs to the Rhode Island DOT and they are under no obligation to make it available to the general public. As the state?s consultant, GTR has full access to the data and site. It is essential to this study that the contractor who installed the instrumentation and collected the data be responsible for the data reduction and analysis. It would not be technically feasible for any other contractor to conduct this study. Because of GTR?s unique qualifications and experience they are the only known source that can provide the required service. This is a Simplified Acquisition and the anticipated award date is on or about May 29, 2003.
