- Description
- This is for the installation of 35 each Automatic Flight Control System (AFCS) Amplifier modification kits on MH-53M aircraft receiving the Israeli Altitude Hold and Hover Stabilization System (AHHS) modification. The AFCS Amplifier modification is being developed and produced by OO-ALC. The MH-53M AHHS modification is being developed and produced by Modern Technologies Corporation. The AHHS and AFCS amplifier programs are joint modifications to the H-53 flight control system. The AFCS Amplifier modification kit installation requirement is sole source to Modern Technologies Corporation, 4032 Linden Avenue Dayton OH 45432-3006, CAGE 9J721, who is currently on contract to perform the MH-53M AHHS modifications. The installation of the AFCS Amplifier modification kits will be performed in parallel with and utilizing the same personnel resources as the MH-53M AHHS modification. The purpose of this requirement is to consolidate and accelerate, to the maximum extent possible, the installation of these two MH-53M flight control system modifications. The approximate issue date of the solicitation will be 6 June 2003. Authority: 10 U.S.C. 2304 (c ) (1) as implemented by FAR 6.302-1, only one or a limited number of responsible sources, and no other supplies or services will satisfy agency requirements. All potential offers should contact the buyer/contracting officer, Vanessa B. Golden at (478) 926-7236, for additional information and/or to communicate concerns with this acquisition. If the contracting officer does not satisfy your concerns, an Ombudsman has been appointed to hear serious concerns that are not resolved through established channels. The purpose of the Ombudsman is not to diminish the authority of the program director of the contracting officer, but to communicate serious contractor concerns, issues, disagreements, and recommendations to the appropriate government personnel. When requested, the Ombudsman will maintain strict confidentiality as to the source of the concern. The Ombudsman does not participate in the evaluation of proposals in the selection process.
