Description

The Naval Undersea Warfare Center Div. Newport intends to award a Fixed Price contract on a sole source basis to Harris Corporation, Rochester, NY for the following items: 1 ea. 0N672486.01 RT.1694D(P) (C)/U Transceiver; 1 ea. RF.5834H.PA001 Power Amp 400 Watts; 1 ea. RF.5054PS.400C Power Supply 400 Watt Base; 1 ea. RF.1194.03 T/F Relay Switch; 1 ea. 10075.1399 Lightweight Handset Enhanced H.250/U; 1 ea. 10181.9834.004 Power Cable; and 1 ea. RF.5072BSM Single Shock Mount. These items are to be installed in the common Submarine Radio Room (CSRR). Shipping is to Newport, VA. This procurement is sole source because these HF components meets all technical and shock requirements and restrictive space restraints. To procure from another manufacturer would require reengineering of the rack space availability and system compatibility with the Seawolf Radio Room and require requalification and recertification of the equipment. The proposed contract action is for supplies for which the Government intends to solicit and negotiate with only one source using SAP and commercial item procedures as set forth in FAR Parts 12 and 13. This notice is not a request for competitive proposals. Any company that believes it has the capability to meet the Government?s minimum requirements is invited to submit a quote for Government evaluation. NAICS: 334419. We also provide electronic access in our Bid Room. The solicitation should be available on our web site by 05/22/2003.
