- Description
- The Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA), Region IX, intends to award a simplified acquisition to Jamie Caplan Consulting of Northampton, MA. Under the proposed purchase order, the contractor will provide support to organized groups of individuals currently utilizing FEMA?s HAZUS software. HAZUS is a risk assessment and loss estimation-modeling tool that is based on mathematical algorithms peculiar to emergency management, along with the application of existing metadata in an ARCGIS-based platform. The Contractor shall also provide technical support, assistance and training to new groups of customers within FEMA Region IX?s area of responsibility. This simplified acquisition will be awarded under the authority of FAR 6.302-1 by which the Government intends to solicit and negotiate with only one source. The North American Industry Classification System (NAICS) code for this requirement is 541990, Professional, Scientific, and Technical Services. This requirement will be a 100% small business set-aside. This notice of intent is not a request for competitive proposals. However, interested parties should submit a description of their technical capabilities and qualifications within fifteen (15) days of publication of this synopsis. Information received will be considered solely for the purpose of determining whether to conduct a competitive procurement. A determination by the Government not to compete the proposed acquisition based on responses to this notice is solely within the discretion of the Government.
