Description

CONTRACT EXTENSITON AND INCREASE IN CONTRACT DOLLAR VALUE. The Missile Defense Agency (MDA) intends to award a modification to a sole source, firm-fixed price/cost share contract (HQ0006-02-C-0001) with Wales, Ltd on or about 1 August 2003 for Systems Engineering & Integration (SE&I) and Special Studies. This modification extends the present contract period of performance from a five and one-half (5 1/2) period of performance to seven (7) years, with options, and will increase the approximate value of the contract from $8.5 million to $12.5 million. This modification is a continuation of effort under contract HQ0006-01-C-0002 and provides system design updates, special studies of related missile defense topics, and sensitivity studies and analyses for the Israel Systems Architecture and Integration (ISA&I) Program. The studies and analyses to be performed within the ISA&I Program pertain to missile defense matters affecting both Israel and the Middle East. Topics for study include the identification, evaluation, and ranking of the alternative means of improving the Israeli Missile Defense System architecture. The cooperative efforts that are undertaken as a result of the ISA&I studies also provide risk reduction and alternative technologies for U.S. ballistic missile defense programs as well as phenomenology and kill assessment data. Wales, Ltd is the only known source for the studies and analyses described. Award of the basic contract had been made pursunat to 10 U.S.C. 2304 (c) (1), only one responsible source. Any vendor or contractor who believes they possess capabilities to perform the effort as described above may express their interest by submitting pertinent and verifiable information that details their experience with relevant Israeli missile defense architecture and integration studies to Mr. Robert F. Frey on or before 6 June 2003. See Numbered Notes 22 and 26.
