Description

The Naval Air Systems Command (NAVAIRSYSCOM) is seeking information from any commercial source capable of providing a cargo net for use in the internal air transport of small package size, lightweight cargo items onboard USN/USMC transport aircraft. The net must be able to restrain cargo items measuring up to 2 ft. wide x 3 ft. long x 1.5 ft. high (9 cubic feet) and weighing up to 175 lbs to 4g (700 lbs proof load) in all directions. The net shall have provisions for attaching to the aircraft floor tie down rings spaced in a grid pattern at 20 in. centers. A net that has flexibility to conform to cargo size variations that are less than dimensions shown above is highly desirable. Firms able to meet this requirement are invited to submit a statement of capabilities and product literature to include current GSA information (if applicable) and price schedules or cost estimates. No deliverables are required in response to this solicitation. THE GOVERNMENT DOES NOT INTEND TO AWARD A CONTRACT ON THE BASIS OF THIS RFI OR OTHERWISE PAY FOR THE INFORMATION SOLICITED. This RFI is released to assist in the process of identifying Commercial Off-the-Shelf (COTS)/Non Developmental Item (NDI) solutions that can satisfy the operational requirements. Responses should be received no later than August 29, 2003. Submissions are for market research and all material will be retained in confidence.
