- Description
- BLM Request for Proposal, NAR030076, Aerial Seeding and Hydro Mulching. This is a synopsis for aerial seeding of approximately 1,200 Acres and Hydro Mulching of approximately 500 to 800 acres in the Rattle Fire Complex. The burned areas are located in Northern Grand County, Utah, in an area known as the Book Cliffs. The terrain is extremely rugged with limited vehicle access. Line Item 0001: Aircraft will deliver approximately 40,000 pounds of encapsulated seed at an application rate of 33.3 pounds per acre. Line Item 0002: Aircraft will also deliver hydro mulch mixture that will consist of 100% thermo-mechanically refined virgin wood fiber mulch to be applied at a rate of 1800 pounds/acre and will be mixed with 180 pound/acre of guar tackifier plus the necessary volume of water. In addition, the mulch mixture will be dyed to allow for visual tracking. BLM will provide the seed. An approved DGPS guidance/Navigation or comparable system is required. The project shall be completed within 3 days, weather permitting, for Line Item 0001 and 42 days for Line Item 0002. The anticipated start date for this project is between September15 and October 15, 2003. This is 100% set-aside for small business. The standard SIC/NAICS classification is 0721/115112. Anticipated issue date of solicitation will be on or about June 18, 2003. Proposals are due July 9, 2003. A firm fixed price contract is anticipated. The approximate award date is July 16, 2003.
