Description

NA This announcement is issued as a market survey to assess industry interest for a design-build construction project. Design-build means combining design and construction in a single contract with one contractor. The contemplated contract action is for the design-build of permanent facilities for the U.S military at Al Udeid Air Base in the State of Qatar. Permanent facilities will include but are not limited to: billeting facilities, dining facility, fitness center, medical facility, fire station, commun ity mall, dog kennel, and site security related facilities and systems. The magnitude of this construction project is between $25,000,000 and $100,000,000. The solicitation will be a request for proposals. A firm fixed price contract will be awarded. This is a market survey and not an announcement to establish a list for bidding purposes. Do not request solicitation documents. Do not request to be placed on the planholder's (i.e., bidders) list. A list will not be established from responses to this n otice. At a later date, an announcement of the proposed contract action will be publicized at the Federal Business Opportunities (FedBizOps) Internet site before issuance of the solicitation. The planholder's list will be prepared from responses to that synopsis of the proposed contract action. Interested prospective offerors or parties should respond to this notice by faxing a one-page letter expressing interest in this project and describing any existing or contemplated teaming arrangements (that is, jo int venture, partnership, etc.). Responses should be faxed to the attention of Mr. Rick Elder, fax number 540-665-4033. The response is requested by May 15, 2003. Please provide a response on your company's letterhead with complete company address, phone numbers, and a point of contact. Please respond in writing only, refrain from phone calls and e-mail inquiries, as this is only a market survey to determine the in terest in the proposed design-build contract.
