- Description
- The National Park Service, Golden Gate National Recreation Area, San Francisco, is seeking an Architectural/Engineering (A-E) firm to provide design services to structurally stabilize and seismically retrofit the Golden Gate Dairy House located at Muir Beach in Mill Valley, CA. The anticipated work includes, but is not limited to the following: (a) design of a new foundation system with appropriately braced subfloor walls; (b) design of a seismic retrofit for the structure, including calculations and engineering drawings; (c) site visit to determine the current status and dimensions in order to produce as-built (current status) drawings including plans and sections of the structure; and (d) produce a foundation plan, first floor plan, ceiling plan, roof plan, three building sections and structural details. The estimated cost of construction is $50,000.00. The following criteria will be utilized in the evaluation of prospective firms and their project teams (including consultants): (1) Professional qualifications necessary for satisfactory performance of required services; (2) Specialized experience and technical competence in the type of work required, including, where appropriate, experience in energy conservation, pollution prevention, waste reduction, and the use of recovered materials; (3) Capacity to accomplish the work in the required time; (4) Past performance on contracts with Government agencies and private industry in terms of cost control, quality of work, and compliance with performance schedules; (5) Location in the general geographical area of the project and knowledge of the locality of the project; provided, that application of this criterion leaves an appropriate number of qualified firms, given the nature and size of the project; and (6) Successful experience in working under the conditions imposed by National Park Procedures concerning historic structures, archeology and natural resources. All criteria are of equal importance except criteria (1) which is of slightly lesser importance than all others. This procurement is restricted to Emerging Small Businesses. The National Park Service welcomes the participation of women and minority firms. Interested firms are invited to submit a letter of interest and completed Standard Forms 254 and 255 to the address contained herein, marked for the attention of the named contact person. Responses must be received before 5:00 pm PST, 30 calendar days from the date of this publication (the first workday following a weekend or holiday) in order to be considered for selection. This is not a request for proposal. Solicitation documents will not be issued. See Numbered Notes 24 and 25.
